Nostalgia & Weddings
Rae and I got married a stone’s throw from Oceanstone, which is where this wedding takes place. So, this region gets to keep a place in our hearts. Oceanstone is the east coastest place ever: a rugged shoreline of wave-polished rock and evergreens draped in moss. There’s even a lighthouse on the opposite shore. On this unusually calm wedding morning, as K prepared herself with the same quiet dignity that she seems to always exude, a seal sun-bathed on a rock between us and the lighthouse. Sun glinted on choppy waves. Inside was tea, fruit plates and the warm familial chat. Three cottages over, K’s groom-to-be assembled himself with his father and a buddy.
A guitarist and stand up bassist jammed in the warm fall breeze in the afternoon as B & K exchanged vows and sealed it with a kiss. After photos, reception toasts were warm, funny, interrupted only by a dash out to the shore to catch the sun setting, grapefruit red over the horizon.
Towards the end night, dancing and s’mores on the fire outside. Stars. Cool air. From inside, you could hear feet a stompin’.
And that’s how K & B did it. We hope you enjoy some of our favourite images from this rich day.
