We often say that a wedding is the closest that most people get to real magic. Ideally, it’s an authentic, symbolic act to fuse the lives of two different people together. We cast our best magic for our own wedding and we revel in photographic joy when couples do this for themsevles. Kevin & Ali summoned matrimony with much gusto! Every detail of their wedding was enthusiastically stamped with their personalities and, dare we say, with their souls. A few quick but meaningful examples: The ring-bearer wore the very same suit that Kevin wore when he was a ring-beaerer, at age 3… All the food, floral, and decour was either locally-sourced, DIY’ed or borrowed from Ali’s much beloved grandmother (hence the beautiful vintage vibe). Also, Bret Hart, a friend and professional hero of Kevin (an amatuer wrestler himself), signed and wrote congratulatory wishes on all the wrap-around sun-visors gifted to and worn by the groomsmen. Lastly, the “flowergirl”, though well past the age of most flowergirls, had “be a flowergirl” on her bucket-list, so Kevin and Ali wanted her as their flowergirl/flowergoddess.
Theirs was a 2 day celebration and this blog is a tip of our hats to the first day, which included the main ceremony. Expect the second day’s celebration in a soon-to-come blog (imagine railroad-chic costumes and carnival games!!!). We genuinely hope you enjoy some highlights of their fantastic day.
