Wedding shows are something we have mixed feelings about. We recognize that they’re good for business, but we don’t love being salespeople. We’d rather have a chat than throw a sales-pitch. So, in an effort to lure couples into a chat, we held a giveaway at the January Atlantic Bridal Showcase in Halifax. The giveaway was for an engagement session with a very high-quality wedding album and it gave us the amazing opportunity to meet a wonderful couple, Breanna & Kyle (the winners of the draw). We sat down with them both to discuss options for their engagement session over tea and coffee at Uncommon Grounds (our usual spot). After chatting a bit, the 4 of us were excited about the possibility of a camp fire out in rural Nova Scotia but old man winter had other ideas. This winter has been so brutal! Instead, we all decided to meet up one early winter morning for a sunrise session at Point Pleasant Park with a second photo session scheduled for the warmer months. When we got to Point Pleasant in the pre-dawn, freezing darkness, it was covered in lakes of ice. It looked treacherous (Topher took a spill) but Breanna slid around playfully as we moved to different locations in the park. Breanna is super sweet and considerate (even lending us a hand to navigate the snowbanks and slippy parts) and Kyle had us in stitches with his witty humour. It was a short session but a good one, and we can’t wait for the second part of it. It was truly a pleasure to work with this delightful pair.
