“Because there’s nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it’s sent away.”
~Sarah Kay
Neither Topher or I grew up in Halifax so we are not really privy to all the hidden gems that are part of the beauty of Nova Scotia. This summer we have been fortunate enough to have clients take us to some of their favorite spots around the province for their engagement sessions. On our escapade out with Emily & Tyler, they introduced us to the serenity and beauty of Conrad’s Beach. I’ll be honest, in the four years that I have lived in HFX, I think I have been to one beach so I had no idea what to expect. Beaches down south were always filled with half naked people and kids building sand castles. Instead, Conrad’s Beach is the kind of place you could sit for hours looking out at the waves without hardly another soul around and having the space to find real peace… it is amazing.
So are Emily & Tyler… the one thing they wanted to do during their session was ‘get in the ocean’. Now mind you, summer started late here and while it was late June… the air was still really chilly (maybe that’s just my Southern blood talkin’). This didn’t stop them in the least, they were more than happy to take in the ocean waves and run along the shore. The sunlight was breathtaking but not as much as their love. You can really feel their affection for each other. Take a look… you’ll see what I mean.
