Meet bright-eyed, bright-minded, fair-haired and curious Ivy.
Ivy was the first person that we photographed as “Topher and Rae”. She was quite new to being a person, and we were quite new to being a photography team, so it worked out well.
For this photography session, in the cold, cold Nova Scotia April of 2015, Ivy and ourselves had more experience to our credit and I think we all did just fine. She gave us a high-five at the end of the shoot, which is a good sign, right?
Ivy is about to experience another “new”. She’s only weeks away from becoming a big sister. It was so much fun watching her try to come to an understanding of what pregnancy means as she put her hand to her mother’s belly, and put a pink ball under her own little sweater to give herself a swollen belly.
In any event, Ivy is lucky because she has awesome parents. Jane and Eric are the kind of people who make parenting look fun and interesting–enough so that it is almost a spectator’s sport–even though raising children well is probably life’s hardest thing to do. Jane and Eric seems to exude patience, so that’s probably a key ingredient. We were lucky enough to be introduced to this couple by the very same person who introduced Topher to Rae–our mutual friend Anj.
We hope you enjoy some of our favourite images from this photography session.
