It’s August. For wedding photographers, this is … a very busy time.
August is when Rae and I, usually under-slept and with our heads full of to-do lists, will start arguing over silly crap that doesn’t matter. This year we’ve actually been good, and you know….props to that. Just a couple nights ago we narrowly missed a cuffuffle and we were proud of ourselves and each other for having the wits to see our usual pattern and side-step the nasty part. But I digress. It’s a busy time, and as a result, I’m giving up a few things so that I have a bit more time to rest, re-hydrate and do things like sweep the floor (maybe). One of the things that I’m going to be giving up for the next few weeks is blogging. This should give me a bit more time since it takes me quite a few hours to write a blog I feel comfortable showing the world (and there are always still mistakes. Oh well).
What I’d like to say about this wedding is that N & JF are extremely real people. So real that you know in your bones you can trust them. For this reason (and others), their wedding was thoroughly impactful. When they made their vows, you knew that they really meant what they were saying. I felt like I was photographing something historic. In their lives, this is an historic event of course. And they’re both so gentle and good natured, despite having had challenges beyond what I’ve ever had to face. Anybody would be benefited by such fortitude and grace.
Enjoy a few of our favourite moments from their wedding
