I wish this were a longer blog, but I’m not feeling well today and my mood is low. I’m cutting corners in life where I can, so I’ll keep this one short and sweet.
This wedding was a joy to be a part of. February weddings are a gamble and this one panned right out—complete with a dusting of snow at night that made from some great photos by Hatfield Farm’s fire pit. But my favourite part of the day came in little moments of snickers and giggles N & D shared when they looked at each other. They look at each other like they’ve got a secret. My second favourite part of the day was their first dance. I’ve never laughed so hard during a first dance. Their song (“In Spite of Ourselves”) is delightfully rough around the edges and equally touching. Possibly the best love song ever. Oh, and my other second favourite part of the day is that N not only DIY’d her decorations, she did an amazing job. I ended up taking a lot of photos of her wedding cake…..
Here’s the clean part of that first dance song:
We’ll end up a’sittin’ on a rainbow
Against all odds
Honey, we’re the big door prize
We’re gonna spite or noses
Right off our faces
There won’t be nothin’ but big old hearts
Dancin’ in our eyes.
Many thanks to N & D for including us. There was a lot of joy here.
Here are some of our favourite photos from the day.
